About The Event

FEAR vs FREEDOM

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness under fire: the art of our time.

With the escalating conditions of the #MeToo Movement, equality and civil rights, separated children and US concentration camps, a shrinking middle class, global warming, gun control, and many other social, political, and economic crises’, it is important now more than ever to raise accountability and initiate pressure to not only show our place in history, but to vote and create action. We aim to bring attention to the bigger picture, and are asking for artworks relating to this message. Artists have the freedom to speak out against these (and other) issues, and are encouraged to submit pieces which truly speak to them.

FEAR vs FREEDOM will include an art exhibition and live art creation, a costume contest, and tarot. Guests are encouraged to dress in costumes. In honor of the Halloween spirit, we will be holding a special MIDNIGHT SEANCE in the Levy Ballroom Basement, hosted by the amazing PJ Superior.

NASTY WOMEN PORTRAITS will also be on-site with a special contribution dedicated to THE NOTORIOUS RBG! Nasty Women Portraits is a feminist organization that uses photography to promote badass feminist leaders and support causes that benefit the lives of womxn.

A Note from NWP- If the midterms are going to be anything, they'll be notorious. And we all know who you think of when we say notorious, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. So channel your inner dissenting badass and join us for a #NotoriousRBG photoshoot!

Live artist, Megan Hall of Moby Arts, will be live painting throughout the evening, and will allow guests to bring jackets and shoes to be live painted on and taken home by guests!
